AI無法做到的事

Recently, I read a scientific article showing that AI performed better than physicians in making the correct medical diagnosis. I wondered if there are things that AI cannot accomplish?
In June, I joined the service trip to Uganda in Africa along with 12 College students and a staff member. In Uganda, around 13% of children are orphans and 9% of children have no schooling. We spent time with small children at an orphanage. We conducted classes at another orphanage teaching primary students how to make Chinese Lanterns. We also enhanced the infrastructure of another village school by making paintings on the walls of that school building. During debriefing sessions at the end of the day, our students shared that many children asked them the same question before departure, “Will you come back and visit us again?”
This statement from the children reminds me of one thing that AI cannot accomplish, the transmission of love. During our interaction with the children, our students not only served their needs, but also conveyed affection and care to them, which touched the hearts of the children. My salute goes to all our College students (Alice, Angel, Anka, Chloe, Eng Ho, Hiu Ching, Ivan, Oasis, Parkin, Riley, Tom and Wendy) for doing something for the children in Uganda that cannot be replaced by AI. Thanks also to the guidance and support of our College’s staff member (Serena) and a staff member of Watoto* (Victoria) throughout the trip.
*Watoto is a Christian organisation that focuses on caring for orphaned and vulnerable children in Uganda.
