Dear students,
We’re excited to invite you to the Hand-painted Minibus Plate Calligraphy Workshop(手寫小巴牌工作坊)—a hands-on dive into one of Hong Kong’s most recognizable visual cultures. Before digital printing, those bold white plates with red/blue characters were written entirely by hand—an everyday street art now becoming rare. In this workshop, you’ll learn the history, lettering style, and pen techniques, then create one minibus plate and one keychain to take home.
About the instructor
We’re honored to learn from Master Mak Kam-sang(麥錦生師傅), widely known as one of the last artisans specializing in hand-written minibus plates, with 40+ years of experience promoting this fading craft.
