Organized by The University Sports Federation of Hong Kong, China Limited, The 60th USFHK Annual Athletic Meet was held at Joint Sports Centre from 4 to 5 June, 2022. College student Ms. Ivy Lam, a year 4 student in Nursing, won the First Runners-up in both 1500 metres and 5000 metres at the finals. She completed the routes in 5’6’’73 and 20’17’’75 respectively. In the past, Ivy took part in Jackie Chan Challenge Cup Hong Kong Universities Rowing Championships a few times, but it is her first time to challenge herself in athletics, and she made a splash.

Ivy said, “I am thrilled to represent the University in the individual session of the inter-universities athletics competition. It is my first major competition after the fifth wave of the pandemic. When the pandemic swept across the city, I could only go jogging in Tai Po Road and Science Park, and focus on working some weight off for the competition. On the day of the competition, the humid and windless weather affected my performance, but I am grateful that I could still win the awards. I would like to thank the University for giving me an opportunity to join the event, and my thanks also go to my coach Mr. Chan Ka Ho and members from Lok Kak Runners Club.”

Ivy wins the silver medals in both 1500 metres and 5000 metres at the finals.
