Scholarship

To recognize academic achievements as well as artistic and athletic talents of freshers, the College offers numerous full and partial tuition scholarships every year. Recipients of matriculation scholarships will be entitled to renewal of their awards up to and including their graduation year if they maintain the required academic performance. Dr Tzu-leung Ho and his beloved wife Madam Ho generously donate HK$600,000 for one local medical student with outstanding academic achievement and moral character.

The College Master’s List Awards are awarded annually to students who have shown excellent academic performance and actively participated in College activities. The College’s highest S.H. Ho Eminent Award goes to a graduating student who has made outstanding achievements in academic study, personal development and contribution to the life of the College.

S.H. Ho College’s Founding Master Prof. Samuel Sun & Mrs Sun has kindly donated a STEAM scholarship for outstanding year-3 student who majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts or Mathematics. The So Fok May Choy Memorial Scholarship for Neurosciences scholarship is set up in memory of Mrs. So Fok May Choy. It will be awarded to undergraduates affiliated with S.H. Ho College who have excelled in neuroscience studies, research or related services. Donated by Lo’s Family Charity Fund Limited, the Mr. and Mrs. John Lo Scholarship for Education, Law and Social Science Students scholarship is awarded to outstanding year-3 undergraduate students of S.H. Ho College majoring in programmes offered by faculties of Education, Law or Social Science. 

To broaden students’ international horizons, various academic and cultural exchange scholarships are tenable in a number of leading universities of the world.

Finally, as part of the effort to realize its vision and mission on whole person education, the College also offers co-curricular achievement scholarships for students who excel in sports, music, artistic creativity, leadership and social services.

S.H. Ho College Matriculation Scholarships for Academic Excellence (Local)
$3,000 - $80,000

The scholarships are awarded to JUPAS or Non-JUPAS freshmen with excellent academic performance. Recipients who maintain Year GPA of 3.2 or above will be honored Outstanding Student Scholarships of the same amount for up to their normative period of study. Regarding the selection of S.H. Ho College Matriculation Scholarships for Academic Excellence (Mainland), in case of candidates with the same criteria, the students from following provinces, including Xinjiang, Tibet, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Ningxia and Qinghai may have a higher awarding priority. Students who are awarded the University Admission Scholarship through the same academic result, will be awarded the College scholarship in honour.

Selection mainly based on students’ admission results. Interviews may be required.

*All scholarships/financial aid items are open for S.H. Ho College students only. Quota and amount are subjected to change at any time without prior notice.

*In order to avoid multiple or duplicate scholarships, awards or bursaries based on identical or similar purpose are not permissible. Students who have been awarded scholarships in the same category could be duly awarded with honours, but the scholarship amount will count only whichever is higher.

** Ho Tim Foundation Scholarships at Hughes Hall: for students who have applied for a one year Masters course at the University of Cambridge, nominating Hughes Hall as their first choice of college.
