Three College Students Receive Innovation and Technology Scholarships 2026

Congratulations to College students Miss Cheung Hoi Yung, Miss Lam Kwan Tung, and Mr. Zhou Tin Jik, on receiving the Innovation and Technology Scholarships 2026! This year, six outstanding CUHK students were awarded the scholarship, and three of them are from S.H. Ho College.

Established to recognise talented students with a passion for innovation and technology, the scholarship provides valuable opportunities to broaden their international perspectives and gain industry experience, encouraging them to pursue careers in the I&T sector.

Each awardee will receive up to HK$150,000 for participating in a series of elite training programmes, including the overseas/ Chinese Mainland attachment programme, the mentorship programme, the local internship programme, the service project programme, as well as the ideations and achievements showcase.

One of the College awardees, Miss Lam Kwan Tung, a Year 3 Bachelor of Engineering student in Artificial Intelligence: Systems and Technologies, will undertake a six-month research attachment at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, in collaboration with the Nvidia AI Technology Centre, supported by the scholarship. She said: “This scholarship holds profound significance to me, as it offers an opportunity to connect and collaborate with brilliant minds across disciplines and institutions and to immerse myself in one of the world’s most dynamic research environments, bridging the best of academia and industry.”

Another College recipient, Mr. Zhou Tin Jik, a Year 5 student in the Medicine (MBChB) Programme (Global Physician-Leadership Stream), plans to use the scholarship to attend an overseas institution with extensive expertise in translational medicine, biomedical innovation and clinical research. He said: “With this support, I hope to gain exposure to different healthcare systems, innovative research environments and new ways of translating ideas into practical solutions, and develop a comprehensive understanding of how innovation and technology can genuinely improve patients’ health.”

The Innovation and Technology Scholarship was established by the Innovation and Technology Commission of the Hong Kong Government, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited and The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups in 2011. Awardees are nominated by their universities and then selected by an Awardee Selection Committee with members from different sectors. There are 25 awardees per year.
