Prof. Serena Jin Awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in Translation Culture by the Translators Association of China

Prof. Serena Jin, Honorary Fellow of S.H. Ho College, President Emeritus and Honorary Fellow of Hong Kong Translation Society, has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in Translation Culture by the Translators Association of China.

Prof. Jin has had an exceptional career in education and translation spanning several decades. She earned her MA degree from Washington University in St. Louis, USA, and her Doctorate from Sorbonne University in Paris, France.

Prof. Jin has not only dedicated herself to academic excellence but has also made incomparable contributions in translation practice, teaching, criticism, improvement, and promotion. She was instrumental in establishing the Translation Department at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and served as its head for years, committing herself to translation teaching and academic research. Prof. Jin’s translations and scholarly works have had a profound impact on the translation community, and the international symposiums and promotional activities she organised have greatly enhanced the academic status of translation.

Prof. Jin’s lifetime achievement is not only a recognition of her personal work but also an affirmation of her outstanding contribution to the field of translation in Hong Kong and beyond.
