High Table Dinner Highlights

The three High Table Dinners of the first semester of the 2023-24 academic year were held at Ho Sin Hang Hall on September 20, October 11 and November 15, 2023 respectively. Each High Table Dinner had over 500 attendants.

In the High Table Dinner on 20 September, 2023, the guest speakers included Prof. Vincent Mok, the Master of S.H. Ho College, as well as Miss Kwok Hoi Ching, the President of the Student Union Representative Council of S.H. Ho College, and Miss Chan Man Ying, the President of the S.H. Ho College Alumni Association. Drawing inspiration from the lyrics of the College anthem, Prof. Mok reviewed the significant developments of the College in the past year, including admissions, extracurricular activities, and outstanding academic and athletic performances by students. He concluded his speech by sharing the lyrics of the College anthem and expressing his wishes for the College students to achieve their dreams.

At the High Table Dinner on 11 October, 2023, Prof. Patrick Yung, Associate Dean (Alumni Affairs), Faculty of Medicine, professor of Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, and Miss Jamie Chow, a student of the College, spoke to the audience. Last June, Prof. Yung led a sports medicine service team to Uganda in Africa, providing clinical consultations to local athletes and conducting workshops on sports injury prevention for sports coaches and physical therapists. During this High Table Dinner, Prof. Yung and Miss Chow shared their experiences and the significant impacts of their service. In addition, members of the Watoto Children’s Choir performed as guest performers. Filled with inspiring power, their music allowed everyone present to feel the spirit of dedication in Watoto’s services.

The High Table Dinner-cum-Scholarship Presentation Ceremony on 15 November, 2023, celebrated the outstanding achievements of College students. A total of 215 awards were presented that evening, including newly established scholarship generously donated by Prof. Samuel Sun, the Founding Master of S.H. Ho College and Mrs. Sun, specifically for students in the fields of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts or Mathematics). The dedication and efforts of all the award recipients served as inspiration for every member of the College.

At these three High Table Dinners, S.H. Ho choir gave performances which added the charm of music to the College gatherings.

 

Music Highlights:

The S.H. Ho Choir performed the piece Trusting the Rainbow by Hong Kong composer Mr. Tam Tin Lok at the High Table Dinner.
