Mr. Adam Mak Wins Gold at World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships

Congratulations to Mr. Adam Mak, a College student who has made history by becoming the first male swimmer from Hong Kong to win gold at the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships! Representing Hong Kong at the championships held in Israel, Adam secured the top spot in the boys’ 200m breaststroke event with an impressive time of 2 minutes and 11.84 seconds.

Mr. Mak is in his first year studying Bachelor of Education in Physical Education, Exercise Science and Health. His admission to CUHK was facilitated through the Student-Athlete Learning Support and Admission (SALSA) Scheme, which aims to support student-athletes in balancing their sports commitments with their academic pursuits.

 

Miss Eva Chong Represents Hong Kong in Asian Games for Artistic Swimming

The 19th Asian Games was held in Hangzhou from 23 September to 8 October, 2023, and among the participants was College student Miss Eva Chong, who was representing Hong Kong in the artistic swimming competition! Miss Chong is currently in her third year, pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration (Integrated BBA Programme) and Juris Doctor Double Degree Programme, and she is also a member of the Hong Kong Artistic Swimming Squad.

Reflecting on her journey leading up to the Asian Games, Miss Chong recently shared, “In these two years, I have been treading an uncertain pathway and discovering new facets of myself. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity not just as an athlete, but also as a person.”

Recognizing the upcoming challenges, Miss Chong expressed her determination, saying, “As much as I am nervous about competing, I will use my best endeavors to overcome my own challenges and make the most out of this experience.”
