Participation and PB

29 October 2024

Many extracurricular activities took place in the first semester, including various intercollegiate sports competitions. I had the joy of watching some matches in women’s basketball, men’s football, and swimming. We experienced some wins and losses. I congratulated those who triumphed and showed empathy to those who faced challenges. I was particularly touched as I saw some senior students, those in their fifth and sixth years, like James, Nick, and Jasmine, returning to play for the College even though they were not residing at the College and were busy with their studies. A heartfelt salute to them all!

Two of our remarkable students, Adam and Chi Hin, also represented Hong Kong and Macau in competing at the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup 2024 – Shanghai in mid-October. Although they did not win in their respective competitions, they managed to achieve their PB (Personal Best) times ever. Really well done!

I am proud of each of you, not because of the results you are able to achieve, but because you are courageous to participate in the competitions, work hard in improving yourself, enjoy the process, and embrace whatever results that may come your way. Please remember to say thank you to our coaches and friends who have supported us every step of the way. Together, we celebrate not just participation but the spirit of perseverance!
