2024年12月1日，耆康會何善衡夫人敬老院舉行了「長青同行賀聖誕．暖暖善心耀善衡」聖誕派對🎄🌟中大善衡書院、恆大善衡康活書院及港大何善衡夫人堂的學生為老友記精心策劃不同形式的助慶節目，帶來無限歡樂。善衡同學以動人的歌曲🎤🎵活躍氣氛，和老友記一起合唱多首經典歌曲，包括聖誕歌大串燒、〈紅日〉、〈激光中〉、〈愛情陷阱〉及〈喜氣洋洋〉。他們還化身為聖誕老人🎅🎁，親手派發禮物，將溫暖的節日祝福送到每位老友記的心中，共同度過充滿愛與快樂的溫馨時光🫶🏻

【Visit to SAGE Madam Ho Sin Hang Home for the Elderly🤶🧑‍🎄】

On December 1, 2024, a heart-warming Christmas party 🎄🌟was held at the SAGE Madam Ho Sin Hang Home for the Elderly. Students from S.H. Ho College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, S.H. Ho Wellness College of the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, and the Madam S.H. Ho Residence for Medical Students of the University of Hong Kong organised various festive activities for the elderly residents. The College students energised the atmosphere by singing 🎤🎵several classic songs with the elderly, including a medley of Christmas songs and popular local hits from the 70s to the 90s. They also dressed up as Santa Claus 🎅🎁and distributed gifts, sending warm holiday wishes to each elderly resident. Together they had a loving and joyful time🫶🏻

【中大善衡書院與中大（深圳）祥波書院締結姊妹書院簽約儀式】

2024年11月27日，中大善衡書院與中大（深圳）祥波書院於祥波書院第七屆高桌晚宴隆重舉行了締結姊妹書院的簽約儀式。

在簽約儀式中，善衡書院署理院長及學生輔導長李丹教授及祥波書院代行院長潘文安教授，在中大協理副校長（教育）陳新安教授及中大（深圳）副校長朱世平教授的見證下，簽署了合作備忘錄，標誌兩院的姊妹書院關係正式建立。這一重要的里程碑將推動雙方的學術及文化交流。

【The Signing Ceremony for Sister College Collaboration between S.H. Ho College, CUHK and Harmonia College, CUHK (SZ)】

On 27 November, 2024, S.H. Ho College, CUHK and Harmonia College, CUHK (SZ) established a Sister College collaboration at a signing ceremony during the 7th High Table Dinner of Harmonia College.

During the ceremony, Prof. Lee Tan, Acting Master and Dean of Students of S.H. Ho College, CUHK and Prof. Simon Pun, Acting Master of Harmonia College, CUHK (SZ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the presence of Prof. Hector Chan, Associate Vice-President (Education), CUHK and Prof. Shiping Zhu, Vice President, CUHK (SZ). The signing marks the official establishment of the Sister College collaboration between the two colleges. This important milestone will promote academic and cultural exchange between both colleges.

”Tear streaming for one of my biggest achievements ever“

Looking back, I still am unsure how I managed to not quit, and finished the race even if it took as long as two days. My knees were agonising over every step since about 40km in, and I would’ve likely quitted at the halfway point if I could’ve.

Apart from the physical pain, there was also a lot of frustration and desperation, knowing how much better I could’ve done if it weren’t for this one injury.

A struggle was then to ‘lose’ my pride, but keep the motivation. My knees were begging me to quit right away, but my mind thought 36 hours is my minimum target, and beyond that is just pointless suffering.

Fortunately, with the help of words from Coach Eddie, my desire to persevere came through. I was able to convince my pride that finding a way to walk without pain is the ‘exciting’ new obstacle I had to overcome, rather than aiming for a time.

Dragging the event to two straight days was a different challenge however. Sleep deprivation was starting to take a toll and I was seeing things out of the corner of my eyes on the second night, when I had any visibility that is. Otherwise it just felt like the mist was trapping me on an island all by myself, alone. Yet, no longer having any self-doubt, this part did not hit me as hard as the middle section did. I was focused and I knew, one step after another, I’ll do it, no matter the time.

The Chinese name for Oxfam Trailwalker is 樂施毅行者. 毅 stands for perseverance. I wouldn’t say you can always break your limit. Instead, I always thought I push to my limits and stop, leaving no room for regret. This time, the slightest bit of desire, the strongest bit of my want, kept me holding on, and eventually, one step after the other, persevered. Persevering through my limits made this personally my biggest achievement, the very first time I cried after successfully achieving something.
